Suggestions for a good ubuntu compatible laptop?

I'm converting over to ubuntu completely (good riddance M$) and want to buy a new dual core laptop with about 4gb of ddr2 ram. I'm looking at some of the acers here, but am curious if anyone can recommend any specific laptop models that are fully linux compatible. I'm concerned about buying something that comes with vista and doesn't have the proper drivers in ubuntu.
If anyone has had any experience with this, please let me know how it went. I have ubuntu running on two pc's right now (both AMD 64) and had a lot of problems with the sound card drivers and would rather not go through that again with a new system.
